Orchids and Bromeliad by Ann Hoffpauir

This is a floral painting that contains exotic plants, orchids and bromeliad. I am fortunate to live in a town that hosts one of the country's best botanical gardens, Shangri La. The founder of these gardens has long passed, but his legacy lives on in this beautiful place. Wildlife, flora and fauna abound in these gardens. Painting ideas are everywhere at almost any time of year.
This floral still life oil painting is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 on canvas panel.
Thank you for viewing.

Hydrangea by Ann Hoffpauir

Hydrangea is a very beautiful and showy plant when in bloom. Depending on the soil they are growing in, acid or alkaline, the blooms are either pink or blue, or so people say. I do know mine turned pink although I bought plants that had blue blooms at the time. These plants do require more water I think. They have large leaves and they start to droop if not watered enough. Mine bit the dust because of our Texas drought and being away for awhile didn't help at all.
The plant I painted, I purchased recently. It is an oil painted on a 6x6 canvas panel. It is available for $75.00. Thank you for viewing.

China Roses by Ann Hoffpauir

Here is a small painting of roses. These China roses I painted are from my yard. I purchased this plant from the Antique Rose Emporium in Brenham, Texas several years ago. At the time they had a plethora of plants. I haven't been there for some time. I wonder how they are faring during this Texas drought. This particulsar rose is not a very good cut flower as the petals start to fall off a day after cutting. Boy, this forces you to get the subject down quick. The good thing about antique roses is, they are low maintenance and not as prone to insects and disease. This floral painting is an 8x10 oil on canvas panel. The price is $200.00. Thank you for viewing my art.

From a single bud that forms a single bloom to a cluster of several blossoms growing close toghther on the same stem. Painting subjects abound everywhere from grocery stores to my own back yard. The painting is size 5x7 oil on canvas panel. The price is $75.00.
