I was in Rockport, TX. when I painted these large white Pelicans. It was a beautiful day when I saw them and their reflections caught my eye. The Gulf Coast is a haven for many species of birds. A great place to paint too. http://www.ArtworkbyAnn.com

Blue Skies
This old barn has been painted by me several times. It is about a 20 minute drive from my home. An older, really slim cowboy owns the place. He owns quite a few cattle and I have had the privilege to to paint them. Only they must have been in the barn, cause I didn't see'em that day. The day was beautiful and bright, great for a western painting.

Sunflower Charm
Sunflowers, third time is a charm. Third day of the demonstration for the watercolor class. Everyone in the class so enjoyed painting the sunflowers. The use of the gauze and other materials some used for theirs made for some happy results. Like I said before, sunflowers can make you happy.

Sunflower Burst
Another sunflower demonstration for the class the next day. I used the medical gauze again in this watercolor for the center of the flower. I am really starting to like that stuff. Sunflowers are wonderful subjects for keeping me in a looser style.

Sunflower Splash
I painted these sunflowers as a class demonstration using medical gauze to create a textured imprint for the centers in this watercolor. Sunflowers are a wonderful sunny flower to use in paintings. I don't know about you, but they can brighten my day. My style is much looser in this painting which I really enjoyed.

Blue Crab
Blue Crabs are common in the Gulf Coast. My family and I went crabbing a lot when I was younger. We had a good time trying to see which one of us could catch the most. Now I take pictures of someone's else that has caught'em, less likely to get pinched too...!

September's Song
September’s Song
A trip to Colorado resulted in
this landscape oil painting. Every turn driving
in the mountains is a different view.
All the views are breath taking in the vast landscape. This is the western landscape at it's finest. We didn’t see any wildlife except for a
chipmunk or two. I was hoping see an elk
or moose or some other large wildlife in the Colorado Rockies. I could have painted one in this painting
but, I will paint another landscape later and put wildlife in it.

Bird Bath-Carolina Wren
This little fella, a Carolina
Wren, had just finished taking a bath.
He flew into a shrub close by and I was able to observe him. His feathers were all askew making him look
scruffy. I placed him into the landscape
with just a twig he is resting on, to not take away from his bath pose. This painting is a miniature watercolor, 5x5.
