Majestic Longhorns

These fine looking longhorns were outside of Austin, TX. while my husband and I was on a trip in that area.  I wanted to paint a western scene with these longhorns in it.  I decided to put the longhorns on a slight hill to give them a more impressive look and feel.  It was a bright sunny day and I hope I captured that too.

 A trip to Colorado resulted in this landscape oil painting.  Every turn driving in the mountains is a different view.  All the views are breath taking in the vast landscape.  This is the western landscape at it's finest.   We didn’t see any wildlife except for a chipmunk or two.  I was hoping see an elk or moose or some other large wildlife in the Colorado Rockies.  I could have painted one in this painting but, I will paint another landscape later and put wildlife in it.

Lazy Afternoon-Longhorns

These three longhorns were in a pasture just taking in the warm sunshine on a early fall day outside of Austin, Texas.  It was a lazy afternoon that day.  These majestic animals always fit the western landscape so very well.  Cattle, cowboys and horses

This Longhorn is one of the best looking one's I have seen. They are all pretty but there are exceptions. This one is still kinda young and has a while to go to achieve the long
